Scaffolding props (adjustable steel shores) use trapezoidal (Tr) or metric coarse threads on their adjusting screws. Mechanical jacks, screw jacks and lead screws also rely on trapezoidal or Acme threads for efficient power transmission under load.
Thread rolling is strongly preferred for prop and jack screws because cold-rolled threads are 30% stronger than cut threads — critical for load-bearing scaffolding safety. Hardev Hydraulics machines produce precise Tr threads at 15–45 pcs/min on prop screw sizes from M24 to M52.
